The Executive Bureau (or, simply, “Bureau”) is the EDS organ responsible for running the organisation on a day-to-day basis, drawing policy and representing EDS to the outside world.
The Bureau reports directly to the Council which is the highest governing body of EDS consisted of representatives from all 35 full member organisations. The period in office (tenure) of the Bureau lasts for one working year and current Bureau was elected at the Annual Meeting in July 2010 in Slovakia. The Bureau consists of voting and non-voting members. As they are directly elected by the Council, EDS Chairman and eight Vice-chairmen are voting members of the Bureau while Honorary Chairman, Secretary General and Area Directors, as appointed members, have no voting rights.
