Chairman’s presentation at Robert Schuman Institute

Bence Bauer, Chairman of EDS, was guest in the Robert Schuman Institute´s Young Leaders Programme which was organised in Budapest, September 14-19, 2009.

In the framework of the seminar young people from Eastern and Central European countries gained the opportunity to learn more about the basics of democracy, Christian Democrat and conservative parties´ position and how to be effective leader who knows how to work with the media. Also they were able to practice their communictation skills.

On September 17, Bence Bauer presented European Democrat Students, it’s history and ideas. He mentioned the great leaders who participated in the life of the organisation in the past and were ingrained in EDS.

Young leaders were interested in the goals of EDS and cooperation with EPP especially in comparison with other like-minded organisation. There were many questions about the Bologna Process and EDS’s posibilities of taking part in the implementation of changes, also with special resprect of the presentation of EDS position papers or motions. The Chairman was also addressed about posibilities to join European Democrat Students.

On behalf of EDS, we have to thank Gábor Berczeli from the Robert Schuman Institute for the kind invitation. EDS as full member of this Institute supports and advocates the ideas of bringing together young people from Eastern and Central Europe and to work actively on the democratisation and the implementation of a civil society.
